Why Downtown Cleveland Needs the Downtown Dog Park

Dog owners living in Downtown Cleveland it’s time to take a poll:

  • How often do you take your dog for a walk per day?
    • 3-5  times a day
    • 5-7 times a day
    • More than 7 times a day
  • How long does your dog get exercise per day?
    • 20-40 minutes a day
    • 45 minutes a day
    • 1-2 hours a day
  • What kind of exercise does your dog get per day?
    • Walk around the block
    • A game of fetch
    • Run around the block

According to dogtime.com,

“Generally speaking, a leashed walk around the block isn’t going to cut it. Most dogs need 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. Your canine pal needs enough that he’s slowed down by the time you stop.”

So what did your results conclude? It is clear that city dogs have a much harder time receiving the proper exercise they need in a day, due to many different factors. One main factor being that there is no safe place for dogs to run free and play in the city. Inactive dogs can become overweight, incur illness, and even develop depression.
